My new scale is NOT my friend. It says I weigh 5 lbs heavier than my old scale. Ah…oh well. It does have some extras like telling me my bmi, water percentage, pounds I’ve lost and how many pounds I have to go until my goal weight. At least it doesn’t say “Get off of me and go run!” LOL. I did get to go for my walk/jog yesterday though and today I’ve already gotten a little circuit training in. I guess I’ll hit the weights later. Then hopefully, I’ll get up early enough to go jog tomorrow. I’ve gotta get ready for the Color Me Rad 5K in March.
So far, I’ve done really well on eating. Yesterday, I don’t think I even ate all my calories, yet I was full. The only thing I think I need to change is my breakfast. I had 2 of those small sausage biscuits (300 calories just for two of those!). For a snack I had 2 oat and honey granola bars. Then for lunch, I’m having lemon pepper chicken, green beans, and corn. And I have meat in the crock pot for beef stew tonight. I think if I can keep on eating this way, I should get rid of some weight. I am trying to stay away from junk food, especially doritos…oh how I love doritos. But I do feel better not eating all that junk :).
If anyone has any weight loss tips, please feel free to share!

Not exactly a resolution but….

I didn’t really make a resolution to lose weight, but I know I need to. For my weight to be a healthy weight, I’d have to grow probably 6 inches. So, since that’s not gonna happen, I have to get rid of the extra weight.  I’m not overweight enough for any kind of weight loss surgery so I have to do it the old fashioned way. I’m trying to walk at least 3 times a week for around 45-50 min (that’s usually around 3 miles).  I alternate those days with lifting weights.  I’m not sure if this is the kind of workout schedule I need, but it’s better than nothing.  I’m also trying to drink a lot more water (by the way, how do you do that without having to go to the bathroom every 5 min?). Water is definitely not my beverage of choice, but I know it’s healthier than other types of drinks.  I’m also really trying to think before I just mindlessly snack.  Most of the time, I snack because I’m bored.  Since I work from home, that’s really easy to do because food is always available.  I don’t keep a lot of junk food in the house but I have kids so I do have stuff like chips.  I just have to stay away from it.  I bought a block of sharp cheddar cheese to snack on. Now, I realize it’s high in fat..etc. But it does have nutritional value, unlike chips.  And I eat far less of the cheese than I do the chips because it fills me up.  So I think it’s a healthier food choice.

Another thing that keeps me from losing weight is my scale. I will weigh myself everyday and get mad if I haven’t lost any weight. I know I shouldn’t weight myself everyday and I’m going to try to start only weighing myself once a week. I have never been able to stick to any kind of diet.  So that’s why I’m trying to just watch what I eat and drink more water.  Eating has become a hobby for me and it’s not a hobby I want to continue.  I just wish it was as easy to lose weight as it is to gain it!
