Take a Break with Plays.org

So I like to play games to relieve stress. They really take my mind off of things if only for a little while. I came across Plays awhile back and I love it! with over a thousand games on their site, there is sure to be something for everyone. The categories and games are so diverse games so it’s hard for me to pick my favorite.

But think my favorite genre of game on there though is the memory games. I like something that really challenges my mind and those types of games seem to do the trick. I also really enjoy the hidden objects game. They are challenging but really helps you learn how to concentrate.

Or if I can’t decide what kind of game I want to play, I just hit the random button and let it decide for me. It’s also a good idea to create an account so you can save your favorite games. And the best part is that the games are free, there are no ads, and no software to download.

I’ve Been Outlandered!

My new guilty pleasure is a series of books that has been turned into a tv series: Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Here’s a quick synopsis:  An English nurse, Claire, from 1945 visits Scotland with her husband, Frank. She visits some ancient standing stones and is transported back to 1743 Scotland where she meets Jamie Fraser. It was a very rough time historically there (look up the Jacobite rebellion) so things get interesting for Claire.

There are 8 books in the series and I’ve made it through the first one and currently reading the 2nd (Dragonfly In Amber).  I remember seeing ads for the show(It airs on Starz) before it aired and not really being interested.  Boy, was I an idiot!  After seeing a preview for it one day, I decided to check it out. I’m so glad I did!  It is hands down one of the best shows ever to have graced the tv world. That got me interested in reading the books. Jamie and Claire quickly became my favorite book characters in the history of ever. Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe really bring the characters to life on screen.  I mean have you seen these people?  Sam is awesomely handsome and Caitriona is beautiful and elegant.

I do have just a slight crush on Sam/Jamie.  I belong to several Outlander Facebook groups and try to keep up with news about the show/cast.  I follow Sam and Cait on twitter. And I’m always hoping that one day, Sam will tweet me back (Hey, a girl can dream, right?). Rhiannon says I need a “Samtervention” LOL. Ok, I’m not that bad. It’s not like I stalk him and stand outside his window or anything.  I mean that would just be ridiculous and besides, I’m all the way in Mississippi. So it’s also impossible. Not that I would do it if I knew where he lived.  I’ve met a few famous rock stars and I was always so star struck and afraid of bothering them. So if I ever did see him out, I may or may not say anything. Maybe I’d just try sneak a pic of him or something (because that doesn’t sound creepy at all LOL). So I will just stick to reading his witty tweets and admiring the photos of him that are posted in various Outlander groups.  No, but seriously, he is a wonderful actor and I’m looking forward to watching the rest of season 1.  I have no doubt he’s gonna pull off the difficult scenes, even though they are not going to be easy to watch.

No other show has drawn me in like Outlander. It not only has romance, but also adventure and a little bit of sci fi (the time travel part).  My husband even watches it with me and loves it. And yes, he knows about my little crush on Sam, he thinks Cait is gorgeous…afterall..fair is fair, right? 😉

So, what’s your guilty pleasure?

By the way, I was not compensated for this post, just wanted to share my love of all things Outlander!
