Hello 2014!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Mine was nice. I loved being able to hang out with my family. My kids woke me up at around 4 am on Christmas morning. I told them to leave me alone until at least 6, maybe 6:30. We had to be at my mom’s around 8 so I got up around 6. The kids were super excited about their gifts. Well, I couldn’t tell if Jake was excited or not. He had the typical 16 year old boy reaction. But it was all stuff he asked for, so I guess he liked it.
Will did pretty good picking out my Christmas gifts this year. He bought me a Kindle Fire. I’ve been wanting one for awhile because I love to read and the kindle books are cheaper than the actual book. Then he bought me some cool Converse sneakers I had been eyeing for the past month or so. And he bought me some perfume. He knows what I like because unlike some women, I actually tell him. I don’t rely on subtle hints because I know that men usually don’t pick up on them lol. So since, I was specific about what I wanted, I got things I liked haha.

We decided to spend New Years Eve at our house. I invited my parents, my sisters, and my aunt and uncle. We had various finger foods. I think I ate more then than I did for Christmas dinner. My sisters always make amazing snack foods and my mom makes the most delicious cheese ball. My aunt is also a really good cook. We ate and talked for awhile and then shot some fireworks. We didn’t get any of the super expensive kind so the effects were kind of…eh. LOL. The big kids aka my husband and brother-in-law only want to shoot roman candles and bottle rockets. The real kids had sparklers and those snapper things. My porch was so messy the next day.

Here’s a few photos from NYE. I’m still working on how to get good shots of sparklers and fireworks 🙂 .

‘Tis the Season

I decided to dress my blog up a little for Christmas :). I guess since it’s Dec. 1st, no one can say anything about it LOL. Will and I didn’t go shopping on Thanksgiving Day. Well, we did go get a Christmas tree that morning, but didn’t do any “real” shopping. It’s not because people were chastising those who were planning on going shopping that day. It was because there was a football game on that I wanted to watch(Hail State!). So we ended up going around midnight on Friday. All of the crazy shopping at Wal-mart had settled down and there was still plenty of items available.
Then we went over to the new outlet mall. It was busy, but not crowded. I got some pretty good deals.
I didn’t see any violent stampeding going on. What I saw were sisters, mothers, friends, all out shopping, having a good time. I didn’t see any pushing or people grabbing things out of other people’s hands. I am sure that did happen in some places. And yes, those people are probably greedy. But for the most part, shopping this time of year is a fun thing to do. I didn’t go shopping because I don’t appreciate what I have. In fact, I didn’t shop for myself. It was for other people. I had a great time hanging out with Will and shopping. That’s really what it was about for me.

Ok, since I mentioned we got our tree, here it is, all decorated. We usually have an artificial tree, but I wanted a real one this year.

Cause this is thriller…

My sister is working on a super cute Halloween costume for Rhiannon. It’s almost finished. I’ll post pics of it once it’s completed. I am not sure if the kids will get to trick or treat this year because it’s supposed to rain. I took them to a local treat street event last week though. Rhiannon is in dance and they performed “Thriller” so she was already in a costume lol. But that’s not the costume she wanted to wear for Halloween. So my sister and I thought of something cute for her. Since Trey is going as “Batman”, we suggested that Rhiannon go as “Robin”. She loved the idea. My younger sister,Courtney, is the crafty one in our family. I mean I can think of some cute ideas, but that’s usually because of pinterest. I can take an idea on there and then kinda add my own flair to it. I’m not much on making costumes though.
Even if the kids don’t get to go trick-or-treating, I’ll be sure to get pics of my “Batman and Robin”.My sister did such a great job on the costume and I told her she should consider making/selling them. If I had that kind of talent, that’s what I would do. She also did a great job on Rhiannon’s costume for “Thriller”. I’m gonna go ahead and say that I think Rhiannon had the best costume out there. She looked pretty scary lol. I’m going to try to get some photos of that up soon. I have a video of the dance too, but since it took so long to upload to facebook, I’m not going to put it on here. Rhiannon did great though. I don’t know where she gets her dancing ability from because it’s sure not from me. I have tried to watch videos and follow steps, but have never successfully learned a dance. I get confused and forget what comes next LOL. So yeah, I’ll just leave the dancing to those who have that talent.
